Dior Lipstick | 578 Diorkiss

This is another 'when in Paris' purchase, but I actually bought this one IN Paris. After going through baggage (during which I was very nervous as I had a box of tea in my suitcase, which could have looked very dodgy on those security cameras!!!) and dumping our stuff at the Eurostar boarding gate, I decided to take a quick look around duty free. Low and behold I managed to bypass the 7 Euro English magazines (no, that's really how much Cosmo was!), and found myself in the makeup and perfume shop.
As they had no YSL stand (in PARIS), I headed to Dior. I've never had/owned/used any Dior lipsticks, and had no idea what to expect.
After swatting a few I came across this little beauty!
Let us just look at the packaging, it has a silver rim, and a little button on the end that you use to pull the lipstick out of the tube. Let's just look at the shift on the 'Dior' part of the tube, in the light it shifts from a dark navy blue on the 'D' end, to a bright gold on the 'R'.
I decided to choose a nice everyday shade, simply because I was spending 22 something Euros on a lipstick, and wanted to choose something I'd always wear. Rather than something I'd pull out on random occasions.
 - Left built up - Right 1 swipe -
The lipstick feels quite moisturising, and is a nice pink when built up. However when sheered out over my lips it turns a pinky coral which I really love.
It's very balmy and wear time varies down to drinking, eating etc. 1-3 hours before touch-ups, has been my normal wearing. It's nice and moisturising, and doesn't have a hugely distinct smell, so this is great for y'all that don't like heavily scented lip products!
It has a creamy, sheer finish with no sparkles but a little shine to add dimension to the lips.
All-in-all this is an expensive lipstick, but as I chose an everyday shade it's more of an investment. It's that perfect lipstick that you can swipe on in a rush, and it'll just make you look so much more pulled together. It applies smoothly and doesn't cling to rough patches or dryness, even smoothing and moisturising in those cases! I'm chuffed with this and would give it:
4.5/5
It's beautiful, but it doesn't have a scent and I really do like a scent in my products. However, that's really a teeny set back! I'd definitely recommend a lipstick like this as an investment.

Kendall Jenner inspired Dark Lips | Tutorial

I did this tutorial inspired by a look I saw on Kendall Jenner in a recent episode of 'Keeping up with the Kardashians'. She had a pretty neutral, plain eye with super dark blackened blackberry lips. It was absolutely gorgeous, so I just had to do a tutorial on it!
I hope you like it, and please remember to subscribe to see more videos!

MAC Lipstick Collection | CB 96

When I was in Paris I took a walk up the Champs-Élysées and not only went into Sephora (and bought nothing), but also went into MAC (and bought nothing). I know! I managed to walk in and out of two beautiful shops, and bought nothing, nil, nacho cheese!
Naturally though, I did swatch everything in MAC, but wasn't looking for anything in particular.
And then CB 96 came into my life, as soon as I swatched it I knew I had to have it. After begrudgingly leaving the MAC shop in Paris, I ordered this lippie off of Debenhams as soon as I got home!
Just look at the sparkles, so sparkle, so shine! To this day I don't think I have ever owned a MAC frost finish lipstick *goes to check collection* NOPE! I often avoided the frost section, because I've never really liked the look of a lot of them. My Mum often used to wear these frosty finishes, and I've always thought of them as old and stuck to Matte finishes. But CB 96 really pushes the boat out. It does have that old-timer sheen/glitter/shift to it, but it's a bright orange-peach lipstick with a GOLD shift!
- Right 1 stroke - Left 3 strokes -
It comes out as a beautiful orange peach on the lips with a C-3PO like gold shift, it's perfect for the Autumn/Winter time because it's orange (Halloween) and gold (Christmas)!
- With flash -
Please note as you can see my lips are rather pinkly pigmented, so if you have lesser pigmented lips or more pigmented lips, this WILL look different as it's sheer, not opaque.
Look at that gold highlight, it makes my lips look so pouty. It also doesn't linger over dry areas, and it feels a little moisturising which is a nice change to flat Matte from MAC. It's slightly balmy and slippery, but lasts for a good 2 or so hours.
I applied this about half an hour before I left to see 'Wings & Wheels' in Dunsfold last weekend, and only had to re-apply about an hour after we arrived. (Also, I had bubble tea for the first time! Yum!)
So it LASTS.
It's also easy to re-apply, unlike a Matte, you can easily layer this, whereas I find that to re-apply a Matte, you have to remove the original layer and then apply. Here, you can easily apply one layer atop another with no problem, and no clinging!
My rating of this beautiful orange lipstick would be:
4.5/5
Whilst the colour and shimmer are beautiful, I wish it would last a little longer, and through eating like Mattes do. However, it's not far off darn perfect!!!
I'm thinking about making posts about all of my MAC lippies and rating them similarly, what do y'all think, is it something you'd want to see?

(PS. Don't cha love my new signature? "So eleganté Harriet!" If you know where that's from...I love you)

I've been to France - Vlogging and Blogging!

I've been away for about a month now, and I've really enjoyed that brief hiatus. I felt that I needed to take a break from blogging, my material wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, and I just wasn't 'feeling' it anymore.
But I'm back, and if you haven't noticed, I have a brand new blog design! It's a lot more autumnal than the last one. It was about this time of year last year that I created the old design, and I felt it was time for a change. Being the A-type personality I am, when I change my mind I HAVE to change something, and I've wanted to change my design for a while. Ps. I really love my new header!
Let's get into what this post is all about, I recently went on a family & friends holiday to France. I've never had a 'proper' holiday in France, other than our year 8 trip, so thought it'd be nice to share some pictures with you guys! Please be aware, this means this is a very picture/selfie heavy post!!!
I never really understood the allure of Sephora, beauty bloggers and vloggers always seem to be going on about it, then I went into the Sephora on the Champs-Élysées. I've never been into a Sephora before, but if they all look like this, BRING THEM TO THE UK! It was one of the most luxurious cosmetics stores I've ever been in.
A quick selfie under the Eiffel Tower!
The view from the second level of the Eiffel Tower. The top was closed for some reason, which SUCKS!
The biggest churros I've ever eaten! There was a little 'city' of tents near the Eiffel Tower where they were selling food and jewellery.
 Yes.
Outside the Louvre, we were standing under an arch and taking pictures near the Louvre, when we figured out that the writing on the arch was talking about defeating the British. It was an awkward walk away! Haha!
In the queue for the Notre Dame, one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen. Two days after we left Paris, Hugh Jackman took a selfie in the same place...I missed him but TWO DAYS DAMMIT!
 Side of the Notre Dame.
A picture of the Eiffel Tower that I took from our cruise down the Seine. I'd definitely recommend taking one of these cruise tours at night, after about 9.
I had a mini black forest gateaux for breakfast the next day before we left Paris. We went to wine country, but all of those pictures are of my friends and I and I don't want to add pictures of them without their permission.
You can check out my WHOLE France vlog here:

All in all, I had a lovely time in France and would really like to visit Paris again in the future!
In reference to my blog design, there are some bits and pieces I need to edit/fix, but I'm really happy with it. I didn't want it to be all white and black, or bright pink again, but I hope y'all like it as much as I do, it's a little more minty-neutral!
